Theatre on the Bay, Cape Town Winner of two Drama Desk Awards | Nominated for six Tony Awards South African production directed by Alan Swerdlow
Nominated for a Fleur Du
Cap Best Director Award for "God of
Carnage". Bernard, a successful architect in Paris, thinks he can easily cope with his three fiancées - one American, one Italian and one German. It's all a question of timetables and a reliable, long-suffering housekeeper who reluctantly plays the role of romantic air-traffic controller. But when Bernard's long lost cousin Robert arrives, things start to get turbulent. Schedules change, flights are delayed and the new, turbo-charged Boeing Aircraft is introduced and chaos ensues in this whirl of mayhem and matchmaking.
One of the biggest
hits in London in 2007, the revival of BOEING-BOEING, Marc Camoletti's 1960s
farce about a man juggling affairs with three airline stewardesses of different
nationalities, transferred to Broadway in May 2008. It starred Mark
Rylance, who was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance as Robert
in the London
production. The cast also featured Bradley Whitford, best known for his
role as a presidential aide on The West Wing,
Kathryn Hahn, best known for her work on NBC's Crossing
Jordan and Sex and the City's
Sarah Jessica Parker.
This award-winning comedian is well known to South African
audiences for his self-penned shows, the last two being Bigger! Better!! Faster!!! and Fully Committieed! , as well as for his
role in the perennially popular Defending The Caveman Double award-winner at the Naledi Awards this year! Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role (Play) for her role in our production of God of Carnage, which played here last year. Best Comedy Performance (Female) (Play, Musical or Revue) for her role in Pterodactyls ROBERT FRIDJOHN as Bernard
Pythonesque, Travels With My Aunt Jo Galloway, Bronwyn Gottwald and Nina Lucy Wylde as Bernard's fiancées

Reviews
Peter Feldman - artslink.co.za
Laughter is the best tonic right now
and there is plenty of that to go around in
Alan Swerdlow's latest theatrical contribution. It's a wild,
knock-about comedy that
will put a smile on the face of all but the most cynical Alan Committie is a
revelation
here, in quite the funniest performance I've seen from him.
Daine de Beer - tonight.co.za
Madcap merriment - explosively funny and brilliantly
timed. It's a blast and the kind of escapist theatre that will get you through these trying
times."
