Alan Committie is one of South Africa’s leading award winning comic performers. He freelances around South Africa and has also performed in the UK and the USA. He is best known for his comic one-man shows:

This talented stand-up comedian was also part of all the Smirnoff International Comedy Festivals (Cape Town, Durban and Jo’burg) between 1997 and 2003! And, subsequently has MC’d 10 of the 15 Jive Cape Town Funny Festival events between 2004 and 2019.

Alan Committie is renowned for his 8 year stint as the star of the Broadway hit Defending the Caveman and racked up 963 performances around South Africa. He has subsequently written a hugely successful sequel to this show called Love Factually (already over 240 performances) which he continues to present at corporate and charity events. Other Stage Work

Alan trained as an actor before focussing on stand up comedy and theatre performance has always been a great passion of his. To this end, Committie returns to straight theatre at least every 12 to 15 months and has won three acting awards along the way. He continues to produce numerous theater projects too and has had a leading producing/backing role in the last three years at Maynardville Open Air theatre.
